New enrichment programme begins

Woodham’s More Able Academy is rolling out a new programme of extra-curricular activities for students with a passion for their subject.

The Enrichment programme will be open to all students who wish to pursue a subject further and in more depth.

The programme will be rolled out across a number of subjects and timetables will be available soon. There is no need to book.

The Art Department is hosting the first series of after-school Enrichment sessions, for Year 9 and 10 students.

The Art Enrichment programme began this week with a session on cave painting, early tools and implements used in the creation of art, with a practical using charcoal.

The next sessions in the Art programme (all after school from 3.15pm-4.30pm) are:

  • Tuesday 3rd October Greece and Rome – sculpture, monuments (clay practical).
  • Tuesday 10th October- The Renaissance – the rebirth of skills and knowledge in the art and science (watercolour practical).
  • Tuesday 17th October- Modern art – understanding modern art (debate/written practical).
