Education Welfare Officer
Salary Grade 8 NJC scale – permanent, full-time, whole time (37 hours)
Salary: £23,935 – £27,394 (£24,174 – £27,668 from 1 April 2017)
The Governors are seeking to recruit an Education Welfare Officer. The successful candidate will be based at Woodham Academy but will also work with some primary schools in the Newton Aycliffe area. Your work will centre around improving whole school attendance. There will be a particular focus on working with young people and their families who are considered to be persistently absent, ensuring that they receive the appropriate support from either the school or relevant agency to improve attendance, analysing data to guide interventions and evaluating their impact.
This position is whole time, which means that you will be in attendance at work all year round (52 weeks a year) and will have an annual leave entitlement which must be taken during school closure periods. During periods of school closure outside of your annual leave entitlement, you are required to be in attendance at work.

Behaviour Support Worker
NJC Grade 4 Point 15-19 (approx. £16,772 – £18,560 pro rata term time only plus 1 week)
Woodham Academy is seeking to appoint a Behaviour Support Worker to complement the work of teachers, substantially contributing to a range of social, emotional and behavioural teaching and learning activities and to work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team. The successful candidate will be expected to plan, assess and deliver activities and strategies to support the learning of students who are identified as having social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, treating them with respect and consideration.

We have a number of vacancies for Exam Invigilators. You will not be required to attend all exams during the examination periods throughout the year. Previous experience is also not necessary and you will be provided with training and an induction. A DBS check is also required, which will be conducted by Woodham Academy.
