Careers

At Woodham, we aim to make students the best version of themselves.

We encourage independence and resilience

In Careers Education this translates as every student making the right choices for progression.  Our aim is to broaden the minds of students, to promote aspirations, and encourage students to see that there is a world outside Woodham Academy and Newton Aycliffe. We have an outstanding careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) programme, using the Gatsby Benchmarks to ensure that all students are prepared for their future.

We want to encourage students to ‘do more’ and ‘see more’, by enriching education beyond the classroom to experience different settings, providing opportunities for ‘real life’ learning in preparation for future education and employment. We provide students with thorough post-16 advice, 1:1 independent guidance on their future and a deep understanding of further and higher education so that students are fully prepared for life after school.
