Year 7 & 8
All students will receive 3 pieces of homework each week. This will be:

2 Hours of independent reading (monitored through a reading journal)
A mind map of what they have learned across the curriculum each week. This should amount to approximately 3 hours per week.
The completion of this work is an expectation for all our students in these year groups. We do however want our students to go beyond the minimum and be inspired to work hard. Opportunities for extra work will be available across their curriculum and we look to celebrate those student who go above and beyond the required levels of independent work.
Year 9
English, Maths and Science will be set every week. Other subjects will set homework once per fortnight following the rota below.

Science homework will be set through Seneca (senecalearning.com). All students have been provided with a login. Any questions, please see Miss Barnett.

Half an hour per week, per subject.
(Some subjects may choose to give an hour’s worth of homework once a fortnight, but all student should receive the same amount).
In addition to expected homework, departments will identify revision materials and opportunities for extra study and students will be celebrated for going beyond the basic expectations.
