Headteacher's Message


“Achievement for All” is our stated aim. We are proud that boys and girls of all abilities make very good progress at Woodham Academy. This is because our highly experienced teachers challenge all students to do their best, all of the time. Lessons are exciting, often using the latest digital media. Teachers at Woodham Academy enjoy working with young people and are committed to doing their very best for them.



The curriculum at Woodham Academy has been designed to maximise the learning potential of all students and promote ‘Achievement for All’. All students have equal access to a challenging and stimulating curriculum that provides opportunities, for the most able as well as supporting those from a lower starting point, to be successful. The curriculum balances the requirements of the need for the school to demonstrate its effectiveness through a progress 8 curriculum as well as providing a genuine element of choice for students during the options process as students enter KS4.



Facilities and resources at Woodham Academy are extensive, catering well for the academic and social needs of students. These include 9 science laboratories, two music suies, technology complex, textiles studio, digital technology centres along with a sports hall, gymnasium, drama studio and swimmng pool available for hire.

At Woodham Academy, we believe that all students have the right to learn in an environment free from disruption, poor behaviour, bullying and discrimination.
