Weekend Revision Sessions
As GCSE exam season approached, hundreds of students at Woodham Academy have shown their dedication and commitment to work hard by attending a range of weekend revision sessions in preparation for their GCSE exams. Students have been attending target revision sessions in English literature focusing on their key texts of Macbeth and An Inspector Calls as well as preparing for unseen poetry. Students have had the expert guidance of teachers who are experts in their fields with detailed knowledge of the exams having worked as exam markers for a culminative total of over 50 years! Headteacher Andrew Bell praised students’ efforts stating ‘We are incredibly proud of our Y11 students. Their willingness to give up their weekends to prepare for their GCSEs shows maturity, resilience, and a real desire to succeed. It’s a testament to their character and the strong support from our staff and families.’
Teachers have tailored the sessions to address key aspects of the Literature specification. Students have commented on how helpful the sessions have been ‘It’s been great to be able to go over key areas of the exam with our teachers. I feel really well prepared!’.
With GCSE exams well underway, the school are confident that the hard work and resilience shown by students will pay off. Woodham Academy look forward to celebrating the students’ success with them in the summer.
