Woodham Performing Arts Academy stages SIX: Teen Edition.

Audiences were delighted by students from Woodham Performing Arts Academy, as they took to the stage with three performances of the hit musical Six: Teen Edition. The musical depicts the six wives of Henry VIII, with a focus on their stories as individuals, rather than as merely the wives of a monarch. Students auditioned for roles in the show back in September, and with a hugely successful turnout, staff were able to offer the main six roles to two different casts, allowing more students to have their moment in the spotlight. The roles of the Queens were performed by a cast of eleven, students as opposed to six, with performers ranging from Y7 through to Y11 students, several of whom were making their debut performance in a solo role. As well as the six main characters, there was a strong ensemble cast of supporting singers and dancers, who performed admirably alongside the Queens.

Following six months of incredibly hard work from all of the students involved, the final performances showcased the talent on stage perfectly, with an overwhelming amount of audience members stating that this was the best production the school has staged. Notable mentions also need to go to the students of the backstage crew and technical team, who kept each performance running smoothly.
